Chalcopyrite, Quartz
The Pedro Claim in King County, Washington produced what are arguably the finest North American chalcopyrite specimens in the 1970s. These iridescent, twinned, and exceptionally sized crystals are nearly mythical on the market, with less than a handful of good examples pictured online. Despite the lack of ample documentation of these specimens, this is a highly characteristic specimen from the locality, with large brassy chalcopyrite twins atop a quartz matrix and a minor sphalerite (?) association. Likely collected by Lew Landers in the 1970s.
