Pyromorphite, Malachite
From the Lance and Debra Cook Collection, comes this excellent sculptural specimen of pyromorphite on malachite from the iconic Rum Jungle location in NT, Australia. This location, originally mined for uranium from the 1950s to the 1970s, also produced some of Australia’s finest lead/copper minerals (besides Broken Hill, of course…). Material like this was collected in the early 70s up to as recently as 2012. The deposit is no longer producing, and good quality specimens of this size are increasingly rare. Very nice for the locale. Includes custom base.
