Legrandite
Legrandite is an extremely rare, and yet quite attractive, zinc arsenate hydroxide hydrate. In most of its few reported world occurrences it is known only in microcrystals, but at Ojuela mine in Mexico its crystals attain an impressive size and combined with its rich colour and attractive radiating habit makes for very pretty specimens. This lovely small miniature Legrandite is from Ojuela mine and features five fan-like sprays of rich lemon-orange Legrandite crystals protruding from a knobbly Goethite matrix. The largest Legrandite crystal reaches 8 mm in length which is a good size for this species and the crystals present excellent terminations too. Ex David Hardman Collection.
