Aragonite
This Tsumeb Aragonite is full of character. It is not the 'Tarnowitzite' lead-bearing variety known from Tsumeb, but rather a botryoidal flowstone form with fragments of brecciated rock cemented within. The 'bubbly' texture is enhanced by a slightly velvet-like lustre with subtle shifts in colour across pale green tones accentuating the undulating form. The green hue suggests perhaps that it is slightly copper-bearing. The whole piece comprises a thin plate which, with support, can be stood upright for a wonderful display. This is a really unusual Tsumeb specimen from the Weyand collection.
