Dolomite ps. Wulfenite
This is a fantastic specimen consisting of a creamy pale pink crystals of dolomite that has replaced excellent and large, platy crystals of wulfenite, measuring to 5.3 cm on edge (huge!), from Tsumeb! What was a cluster of several rather large wulfenite crystals in a nice geometric orientation is now a series of dolomite coated and replaced wulfenites that still shows vestiges wulfenite on the underside of the piece. The display face is attractive with the sugary coating of pink, glistening dolomite crystals from 1.5 to 5 mm on the top of, and on the underside, of the wulfenite blades! There are even powdery patches of olive green duftite in places that add a complementary contrast to the pink dolomite. This is one of the better dolomite after wulfenite pseudos we've seen from Tsumeb! They are thought to have come out in the 1970s. A specimen of wulfenite this size is rare, the replacement equally so - and this is the best we have personally seen, in any case.
