NATIVE Silver
This cabinet-sized specimen provides a striking display which is really memorable. Standing upright, the main display surface is dominated by a silver fern. This 8 cm tall dendritic Native Silver lies flat, embedded within the surface, and surrounded by other 'organic'-like growths of crystallized Native Silver overall enclosed in Calcite. If one looks carefully at the feathery branches the detail can really be appreciated, with a central herringbone-like structure surrounded by feather-like 'fluffy' outlines. This magnificent piece from Schlema in the Schlema-Hartenstein District, Erzgebirge, Saxony, Germany comes from Horst Wolle's exceptional collection. The whole specimen is extremely rich in Native Silver, but it is the tall 'fern' which makes it so dramatic.
