This complex yet beautiful crystallized form of Native Silver is almost unique to Pöhla-Tellerhäuser mine in the Schwarzenberg District, Erzgebirge, Saxony, Germany. I say 'almost' because there are other places where this fern-like, or herringbone structured crystal form has been found, but nowhere does it better than Pöhla-Tellerhäuser mine, where the silver dendrites emerge from a contrasting matt black Native Arsenic host matrix. The delicate quality of this crystal form is best observed with some form of magnification, but often not much is required especially when you have it in a large cabinet specimen like this. This superb specimen features one very wide display surface almost entirely covered in this wonderous form of Native Silver. A German classic, and a Native Silver classic too.
