Veszelyite on Hemimorphite

This is an exceptionally rich miniature Veszelyite with superb colour and wonderful 'damp' resinous lustre, and richly crystallized too. From the now famous Chinese discovery at Sanguozhuang Pb-Zn mine, Dongchuan District, Kunming, Yunnan the solid, layered Hemimorphite matrix is liberally carpeted in a world-class coverage of the extremely rare copper zinc phosphate hydrate hydroxide. On a world-scale the Sanguozhuang Pb-Zn mine Veszelyite stands out from all others for its sheer eye-catching impact with its intense colour and extensive coverage and this is a perfect example. The Sanguozhuang Pb-Zn mine specimens are without question, the world's finest specimens of this species as spectacularly rich encrustations and individual crystals. On this piece, the vibrant electric-blue Veszelyite crystals form aggregates (up to 4 mm wide) of curved, serrated, blade-like crystals with an attractive lustre. This is an exceptionally rich Veszelyite from this important discovery and under magnification looks stunning. There are a couple of slightly contacted areas where the Veszelyite crystals are incomplete, but these are really only noticeable under magnification.
