This magnificent large museum quality cabinet-sized 'bubbly' botryoidal Smithsonite from Sardinia is from an extremely unusual locality where specimens are rarely seen and collecting is now prohibited. Nebida mine is a disused lead-zinc mine situated overlooking the west coast of southern Sardinia. This Smithsonite is pale cream to white in colour and displays a super silky lustre/sheen. There is no doubting that this is a significant and impressive dense pure display Smithsonite, and being from the classic Southern Sardinian region which is so renowned for Smithsonite is lovely, especially as Nebida mine is one of rarely represented mines in the area.
