Wulfenite on Malachite ps. after Tennantite$6,000.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
An impressive Tsumeb combination piece featuring pronounced malachite pseudomorphs after tennantite (rare!) accented by a few large wulfenite crystals! The combination of unusual geometry and shape with wulfenite really makes this stand out. The sharp tennantite pseudomorphs have an extensive malachite coating and replacement with no vestige of the original tennantite present anywhere except for the tetrahedral crystal form, and they range up to 3 cm in size. The malachite is a rich, dark green and the surface of the pseudomorphs are somewhat textured from the tiny, glistening malachite crystals that cover the surface and they are also prominent in the hollows between the tennantite pseudomorphs where they are more pronounced and up to 1 mm. The bottom of the piece shows the radial fibrous structure of the malachite. The malachite shows a few rubbed areas with some contacting along the periphery, but otherwise looks very good. There are three, prominent wulfenite crystals concentrated in one area of the piece on the malachite and they are a pale orange, however, take on some of the green color of the malachite since they are lying on the surface of the piece. They have good luster and exhibit beveled edges. The largest crystal has excellent form and the smallest crystal is incomplete. They are lightly dusted with tiny malachite crystals. Overall, this is an excellent, fascinating combination piece from Tsumeb in a rare larger size. This was obtained for Dr. Pohl from the important Tsumeb collection of Marshall and Charlotte Sussman in the early 2000s by Star Van Scriver. Dr. Erika Pohl-Ströher #SCH3971
