This is a superb old-time classic from the remarkable Lengenbach quarry, Binn Valley, Wallis, Switzerland - home to 51 Type Species! However, it is not just rare species that this quarry is renowned for, but perfect crystals of other more commonly known sulphides. This marvellous miniature specimen features a perfect, 5.5 mm wide tabular Sphalerite crystal, sat exposed and 3-dimensionally displayed upon the famous white Dolomite 'marble'. This crystal is orange-brown and translucent and presents a stunning crystallographic form of Sphalerite. The accompanying old handwritten French label probably dates to the early part of the 20th century.
