Galena with Sphalerite, Calcite Chalcopyrite on Siderite$3,000.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
This is not only a beautifully crystallized classic from Clausthal-Zellerfeld in the Harz, Lower Saxony, Germany, but is a really fine larger size for display too. This is great paragenetic material, showing the order in which the minerals were deposited. Finely crystallized toffee-coloured Siderite is first, coating rock matrix. Galena crystals, many of which reach over 1 cm across, are next and are extremely well-formed modified crystals with truncated corners and frequent twinning. Finely crystallized sugary Calcite forms a partial overgrowth upon the Galena, showing preferential development on certain crystal faces. Sphalerite and Chalcopyrite are recorded too, but I have to confess that they are not immediately apparent to me, but the quality of the three other species is exceptional, with no obvious damage to be seen. From the superb German collection assembled by the brothers Martin and Michael Günther (1951-2007 & 1956-2021).
