Azurite
This is a really super miniature, matrix-hosted (just a small piece) cluster of large, glossy, deep blue bladed Azurite crystals from one of the world's most famous mineral occurrences - Tsumeb mine. Two main freestanding bladed Azurite crystals, or rather two clustered crystals, each measuring about 1.9 x 1.9 cm, form the centrepiece. These are really very shapely, with great overall form, fine glossy lustre and deep blue colour with paler blue zonation on a couple of crystal faces. They display wonderful monoclinic crystal faces and display very well from the front and above, but are slightly coated with a matt finish on the rear. There is the slightest of chipping to the tip of the main crystal, a small chip to the summit of the second crystal group and a small fractured surface on the front face where an adjoining crystal was fractured away, but it displays very well overall. A really rather nice grouping of fine Azurite crystals.
