Zircon
A rare gem zircon crystal showing this olive-green-yellow color that has sometime come out of Burma. This is a big, fat, volumetric crystal with a lot of impact for a thumbnail-sized gem crystal; and an unusual color as well. It also has quite a lot of gem quality cutting rough inside, obvious on inspection (and at 21 grams, or over 80 carats, this has some value). An old piece from the 1990s and purchased in Burma at the time, this is a choice thumbnail crystal for a rare gem species. Note that the surface looks rounded, and this kind of texture is natural in many zircons, due to their age and the fact that many formed in other deposits and later eroded out and emplaced in gem gravels or new host rock where we find them.
