This piece was discovered in 2018 in the iconic Erongo region, within the Goboboseb Mountain Range. The area experienced a highly productive period lasting roughly eight years, though in recent times, few significant specimens have surfaced. Brandberg is renowned for its amethyst, particularly those with brilliant luster, glass-like transparency, and deep, decadent color. The finest examples often feature phantom zoning—distinct layers of color suspended within the crystal's core.

As a single scepter on matrix, this piece represents the very best of what the region has produced. Its rich purple zones are beautifully defined and accentuated by delicate, fibrous inclusions of hematite, which radiate from the center. These fine needles have a metallic luster and a subtle red hue, adding a dynamic layer of visual texture and contrast.

The specimen tells the story of sequential growth. The first generation of mineralization formed as a slender amethyst crystal. Later, an influx of mineral-rich fluid entered the pocket, resulting in the nucleation of a clear quartz crystal atop the original amethyst—creating a striking scepter formation.
