Szenicsite
This is an outstanding specimen of Szenicsite from the type and only locality with stunning, large and colorful freestanding crystals! This specimen features two, very large for the species, 4.2 and 3.6 cm free standing crystals and a few other large crystals associated with a small amount of granular Powellite. It was sold by Terry himself to a mutual friend and well-known rare species collector, Paul Stahl of Germany, back in the late 1990s - and it has remained there ever since. Szcenicsite is a rare copper molybdate that was described in 1997 from this locality and it is a super attractive almost a "metallic malachite green" color with fabulous luster and occurs here as broad bladed crystals and there are several robust, excellent crystals in this group. It is associated with granular, cream colored Powellite that fluoresces creamy white under short wave UV. It is a fantastic, bright-colored miniature from the type locality, type find, and from the discoverer (with his label). This is rich and colorful alla round, with an electric green color hard to convey in photos.
