Crocoite
Few minerals match the intensity and delicate beauty of Crocoite, particularly the pieces that come out of the Dundas mineral field-hands down one of, if not the best producer of Crocoite specimens in the world. Presented on this specimen are two immense towers of sharp, needle-like Crocoite crystals rising above a limonitic matrix, which have a vibrant reddish-orange hue. Some of the Crocoite crystals near the bottom of the specimen are lightly coated in dark grey manganese oxides and what may likely be associations of Gibbsite. Despite the Crocoite's lower tenacity, the specimen is in remarkably good condition. This piece comes with a custom acrylic base.
