Galena
The now-closed Annabel Lee Mine was one of the great historic localities of the Harris Creek Mining district, best known for its Fluorite. In fact, while great Fluorites were aplenty, really special Galena specimens were relatively rare. A specimen like this, with its large overall scale and many beautifully defined Galena cubes, is hard to come by. Many of the cubes have beveled corners and slightly rounded edges, and all of them have an excellent mirror-finish. Tucked here and there between all of the gunmetal crystals are tiny corners of deep purple Fluorite, a nice ancillary accent to the overall aesthetics. The rear view adds to the specimen's novelty, showing deep impressions from a previous generation of Fluorite cubes that have been etched away, leaving transparent, deep purple corners in their place (which are hard to fully capture in the photo). This specimen comes with a custom acrylic base.
