Sulphur
A densely packed cluster of glassy, bright yellow Sulphur crystals from the Steamboat Springs mining district presented atop a blended matrix of Sulphur and Gypsum. Most of the Sulphur is stacked in relatively thin columns of interconnecting, steep, pyramidal crystals that, if you look more closely, exhibit nice hoppering toward their center. Despite being one of the world's most geologically complex geothermal areas, producing large volumes of specimens during the 1970s, pieces from the Steamboat Springs mining district are difficult to find since the locality has been closed to collectors.
