Dolomite
What are considered to be some of the most exceptional Dolomite specimens in the world come from none other than the now-closed Asturreta Mine (and it's easy to see why!). Dotting the top of this specimen are several extraordinary Dolomite rhombohedrons (up to 6.1 centimeters across the edge) spread across a layer of smaller but still beautifully-formed Dolomite crystals. Each of the larger crystals are extremely glassy, transparent, and colorless with sharp, dusky-grey zoning underneath the crystal faces. Interestingly, the Dolomite crystals across the top and front view coat a matrix of tightly intergrown Dolomite, white is nicely exposed on the specimen's back side. This piece comes with a custom acrylic base.
