Andradite var. Melanite
A stunning and exceptionally large specimen of titanium-rich Andradite, better known as Melanite, that is almost completely formed of large, sharp, interweaving dodecahedrons. Along with the largest of these crystals reaching a whopping 6.3 centimeters across, the crystal faces are covered in beautiful stepped growths that enhance the Melanite's glassy luster. While each crystal does have the nice black color that is characteristic to this lesser-known member of the Garnet group, the Melanite is also complemented by subtle dark brown accents. This piece comes with a custom acrylic base.
