Quartz
Featured in this piece are three splendid Quartz crystals that have a near-textbook Tessin (or "acute rhombohedral") habit, each detailed with hundreds of well-defined striations and tapering upward to a sharp termination. The largest of these crystals reaches a respectable length of 12.0 centimeters. All three crystals are glassy and clear with aggregates scattered along some of the back and side faces; the most impressive of these aggregates is a single doubly terminated crystal on the back side of the specimen that partially intrudes the central crystal. There is light etching and recrystallization on some of the bottommost faces. This piece comes with a custom acrylic base.
