Paratacamite with Gypsum
Of all of the many significant mineralogical finds of Peru, the Atacamite and Gypsum find of the late 1990s, in the Lily Mine oxide deposits, ranks as one of the most significant for locality collectors. Part of the intrigue is that many of the Atacamite crystals grew as inclusions within large and super transparent Gypsum crystals: these kinds of inclusions in general are of great interest to enthusiasts for both their scientific and unique aesthetic value, and even more so when it features a relatively unusual species like this. One can appreciate that this great cabinet specimen shows both included and unincluded Atacamite with fabulous color, especially that emerald green shining through the included Gypsum crystals. This specimen comes with a custom acrylic base.
