Sphalerite and Galena
This is an excellent combination specimen of stunning, gemmy yellow to olive-green Sphalerite crystals and lustrous, steel-grey Galena crystals from the 5 Level of the famous Commodore Mine. Each of the Sphalerite crystals are large (up to 4.6 centimeters), sharply-formed, and covered in well-defined striations that nicely accent the Sphalerite's vitreous luster. The Galena cubes that cover the rest of the specimen are complete all around with three-dimensional stepped-features and slight hoppering. Minor associations of Chalcopyrite and light-purple Amethyst are isolated around the specimen. This piece comes with a custom acrylic base.
