Amethyst

Spectacularly featured across the top of this specimen are several immense and near perfect Amethyst crystals (up to 10.5 centimeters), most of which are presented at the peak of the specimen in a massive starburst. Along with a beautiful lilac hue, the crystals are completely gemmy with a strong glassy luster, which gives the Amethyst a watery appearance. Each crystal has a euhedral habit with skeletal features on some of the terminated faces; a handful of crystals are either doubly-terminated or sceptered, with a select few having both attributes. The matrix completes the specimen's dramatic presentation with a fantastically cascading Quartz druze.
