Galena on Quartz
The morphology of this singular Galena crystal is extremely unique, with a very strong isometric pattern that was either caused by etching after the cube formed, or hoppering that occurred during crystal growth. The crystal, reaching 6.4 centimeters across, stands alone on a bright white Quartz matrix, which primarily consists of many little (but extremely fine and sharp) crystals, all of which come to nice terminations. The sheer aesthetic value of this mineral is extraordinary, and a standout example of Blanchard Mine Galena, a mine famous for its lead minerals and diversity of species.
