BARYTE on Fluorite$650.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
This is a really lovely Baryte-Fluorite combination piece from the Cave-in-Rock Mining Sub-District, made all the more special because of its provenance to the older W.L. Davis-Deardorff mine. This mine was reportedly the first 'specimen' mine in this district, operated successfully during the 1940s and 1950s but closed during the 1970s and was left to flood. It is now rare to see Baryte specimens from this mine, but this one actually comes from the Fluorite collection of Arvid Pasto. This is because part of the specimen is purple Fluorite. The Baryte crystal is actually really fine, a superb 4 cm long offset 'diamond-shaped' tabular crystal, butterscotch in colour, but with subtle colour zoning and with attractive stepped surfaces. It rises up at about 30 degrees from its Fluorite host, making for a beautiful display.
