Diamond (macle twinned)
A fascinating, totally gem specimen of macle-twinned diamond, showing the classic triangular shape of twins, which are more commonly seen in galenas and spinels and are much rarer in diamond habit, especially given how much diamond rough is cut into gems. This one is a softer pearlescent-white color with superb limpid transparency, as clear as still water. It looks carved! Despite the low carat weight, these macle twins, this in particular, are very big on the surface area - so it LOOKS more impactful on display than you would think from the carat weight alone. We were lucky to obtain a few of these in a single gem lot, some years ago. 0.90 ct, 8.93 x 9.96 x 1.20 mm.
