Pakistani Aquamarine and Quartz
Shigar Valley, in the Skardu District of Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan, is renowned for producing some of the world’s finest aquamarine crystals, which typically occur as sky-blue beryl crystals perched on white feldspar (microcline) ocassionally intergrown with clear quartz. These specimens, prized for their transparency and luster, continue to emerge in small pockets through artisanal mining, making Shigar aquamarine specimens highly sought after by collectors worldwide.
