Moroccan vanadinite is primarily sourced from the Mibladen mining district in Midelt Province, where bright red hexagonal crystals formed as a secondary mineral in oxidized lead deposits within Jurassic limestone and dolomite sequences. Although silver–lead mining began there in the early 20th century, vanadinite specimens gained prominence in the 1920s, with modern booms in the early 2000s and again in 2019 when fresh pockets yielded world-class scarlet-red floater crystals. Today, these vanadinite crystals—renowned for their intense color, gemmy luster, and perfect hexagonal prisms—are highly prized by collectors worldwide. Many examples exist in the market, but it is hard to find a fine example like this one.
