The “holy grail” for Alpine Collectors: A Masterpiece of strawberry red pinkish Fluorite in aesthetic combination with “water clear” smoky quartz from famous Goscheneralp, Goschenen Valley, Uri, Switzerland

The Göscheneralp area, located in the Göschenen Valley in Uri, Switzerland, is a classic locality for pink octahedral fluorite crystals, which have been treasured by collectors around the world for hundreds of years. Usually they are found as smaller, isolated crystals on or off matrix, so to find a huge cluster of sharp, vibrant strawberry red, pinkish octahedral fluorite sitting on top of an aesthetic group of smoky quartz crystals is definitly the „holy grail“ for every collector.

What a killer specimen from the Swiss Alps! Several strwberry red pinkish (look at these color!) fluorites in a cluster are perched atop a clear quartz crystal combo! The fluorites have an intense strawberry red pinkish colour, some oft hem are naturally etched with a high transparency! The quartz crystals are fully crystallized at the bottom side, too. The piece is in fact a floater and totally pristine all around! For that size there is only a minor repair!

This gorgeous specimen came out in 2018 from a new pocket at the Göschneralp. But when you compare it with elder finds like the famous Rufibach pocket or the red fluorite finds at the Frunthorn the quality is minimum the same! Several strawberry red gemmy fluorites perched on several smoky quartz crystals and in perfect condition. A real Materpiece for combination pieces in our times. Hope we see more of these – but very hard to say.
