Lepidolite
A nearly perfect, hexagonal-shaped, lilac colored crystal of Lepidolite (lithium-rich mica) from a pegmatite in the Virgem da Lapa area of Brazil. The single crystal is just over one inch across with great luster on the broad top and bottom faces and is even slightly translucent on the edges. A sharp floater! Featured in the book Collecting Pseudomorphs: The Changelings of Mineralogy (Mineralogical Record, January 2025) on p. 67, fig. 12. Part of an educational set, with these additional items: Lepidolite (Polylithionite) replacing Elbaite (SYP25-05b) and Elbaite Tourmaline with Lepidolite (SYP25-05c).
