A truly special miniature-sized specimen of a one-time find of calcite from a coal mine not far from Daye, in Hubei, China (the location is often given, wrongly, as one of the Daye iron mines). This is a jewel of a calcite specimen from a small find at this deposit from about 2010 and was quickly depleted; and so these are all but impossible to find anymore. Classic! Note this has never been "labbed" or cleaned, so it has a few tiny dings, au naturale as it came. Steve bought much of these up at the time, as he was based in Hong Kong in the early 2000s. He then sold/traded them to the rest of us. This miniature, he kept for nearly 2 decades in his Chinese miniatures suites.
