Triplite
The large majority of Triplite, a rare phosphate mineral, have historically been chunky opaque pieces or tiny shards. In August of 2015 there was a discovery from one small pocket in Shigar Valley, Pakistan that produced amazing gemmy red monoclinic crystals. Here is a large 4.1 cm size glassy, translucent, watermelon red, Triplite crystal with a gemmy quality from that find. The 5 mm thin crystal is partly transparent in areas where one can read text through the crystal. The Triplite slice is mostly complete all around with only some minor near edge chipping. A beautiful and elegant red window pane Triplite from a limited find. Masses approximately 11 grams.
