Fluorite with Quartz$400.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
The remote Stampfl glacier in the Austrian Tyrol not far from the border with Italy is the source of this interesting small cabinet-sized Fluorite specimen. Being from the UK this specimen reminds me very much of the Quartz var. Chalcedony pseudomorphs after octahedral Fluorite from Wheal Mary Ann mine in Cornwall. Quartz-Fluorite veins near Stampfl glacier at an altitude above 2,000 m produce well-formed octahedral Fluorite crystals. The Fluorite is green, but it is nearly always encapsulated in a layer of creamy-white Quartz var. Chalcedony as displayed by this specimen. The specimen is liberally covered in cream coloured octahedral crystals which reach 1.3 cm on edge and up to 1.5 cm across. These crystals are really fine and make for an excellent display. Ex Arvid Pasto collection.
