This is a fibrous halite (potassium salt) with sylvinite, which gives it its deep orange color.

There is a layer of white halite without sylvinite and another layer above it of orange halite with sylvinite. Two gem cubes have formed in the orange layer (not clearly visible in the photo).

There was contact with the vein soil beneath the white layer.

Typical of the Wittelsheim mine, almost impossible to find online (I haven't seen any, except on Etsy or eBay).
