Vrbaite is an extremely rare mercury thallium antimony arsenic sulphide mineral - one of the few thallium-bearing species known to science. It has only been recorded from a handful of localities worldwide and this miniature specimen is from the first, or Type Locality, at Allchar in the Republic of Macedonia. Any crystals from Allchar are considered important and this specimen features a crystalline red Realgar matrix with several tiny cavities containing microscopic black Vrbaite crystals. Rare Type Locality material. It is from the superb systematic collection assembled by the brothers Martin and Michael Günther (1951-2007 & 1956-2021).
