This is an absolute classic La Barre mine Fluorite displaying the iconic 'blue-rim' colour zoning. Miniature in size it is certainly not a large Fluorite specimen, but here the devil is in the detail. Comprising an aggregate of cubic pale amber-yellow Fluorite crystals, the largest reaching 1.3 cm on edge, the overriding feature is the striking mm-wide blue band which follows the edges of the cubic crystals, but about 1 mm in from the edge. The outermost layer is almost colourless meaning that the blue band appears to float within the outer edge of the crystals. The quality of the zoning is excellent and shouts "Le Barre". This zoning is enhanced with good backlighting. The edges of most of the crystals are sharp and free from damage, but there is a chip on the corner of the largest crystal. A really fine miniature French Fluorite.
