Richterite with Braunite$3,500.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
Richterite is a complex sodium calcium magnesium silicate hydroxide: one of the multitude of members of the Amphibole Group. Richterite was first described on material from Långban and despite all the renaming within the Amphibole Group it has survived. This choice miniature of Richterite from Långban is all the more wonderful for having an association with Braunite, which was one of the rich manganese ores mined there. The colours and forms of the Richterite and Braunite complement each other wonderfully: Richterite as glassy orange-brown bladed crystals and Braunite as dark grey metallic rounded aggregates. This particularly fine specimen is from the superb systematic collection assembled by the brothers Martin and Michael Günther (1951-2007 & 1956-2021).
