This is a ridiculously huge Bixbyite for both the species and locality! From the Charlie Key collection originally, purchased by Marshall Sussman and Rob Lavinsky in around 2010. Charlie kept miniatures and thumbnails of each pocket he handled, and this was his bixbyite miniature from a major pocket found probably from finds from the 1980s. This piece actually consists of two, interconnected, metallic, charcoal-gray cubes in parallel growth with the largest, primary crystal measuring an amazing 4 cm on its longest edge and the smaller sidecar crystal to the left side is 2.5 cm across. The front face of the big crystal along with the top and the sides are brilliantly lustrous, as are the faces on the sidecar crystal. This noteworthy piece is in excellent condition and sits perfectly on a flat (contacted, not broken) bottom. This is a major example of the species and a beautiful rarity. Ex. Rob Sielecki collection, from Charlie Key via Marshall Sussman.
