NATIVE Copper
A bright thickly dendritic crystallized Native Copper specimen from the Boddington area in Western Australia (probably from the Boddington Openpit mine). The small cabinet specimen displays excellent branching Native Copper crystals from a central crystal trunk. The Boddington mine is a gold mine, but other minerals have been found in different zones within the deposit. In one area, in the southern pit, rich Native Copper was found in the late 1980s to 1990s and small numbers of specimen were recovered. This is most likely where this piece came from. A fine Native Copper with a really bright metallic lustre and rich rose-orange colour.
