Topaz
This large, rounded, waterworn gem Topaz crystal might be missing a few crystal faces, but it has a nice pale blue body colour and comes from a classic Australian locality - Lower Backwater Creek in New South Wales. A mid- to late 20th century German handwritten label attached to the specimen simply records "Edeltopas" or Precious/Gem Topaz, Australia and the number 1880. It is unclear if that is the year which it was discovered, or the collection number, but if it is the former then this is a significant historic Australian Topaz.
