Large undamaged garnet from Navegadora Claim in Minas Gerais, Brazil. Although there have been recent workings at this mine, no garnets of this size or quality have been discovered in recent times. Most examples of this material available on the market have moderate to heavy damage or are of a subpar quality. This specimen has great luster, complex growth, good color and is aesthetic from multiple vantage points. It has been debated as to whether the complex patterns are the result of stepped growth or natural hydrothermal etching. Either way this is a great example of this material.
