BOTALLACKITE with Connellite
Botallackite from Botallack mine is an extremely rare thing to find nowadays. This fine miniature specimen is exactly that, but it is the accompanying provenance notes that really make this piece so interesting. These record that it was specifically collected from underground at Allen's Section of Botallack mine by Geevor development teams during shaft refurbishment in 1985. The Botallackite forms a thin crust of pearlescent blue-green microcrystals with blue Connellite upon pegmatitic granite matrix. A fine historical specimen. Ex Malcolm Southwood collection (no. MS 2014.245) and ex David Cowan collection.
