Fluorite
This sweet Spanish Fluorite from the Berbes Mining District in Asturias in the north of the country is a really unusual colour for the region. Purples are well know, indeed extremely common, but this Fluorite is more of a pinkish purple, but with colour zoning - darker in the core and paler outwards, but with two distinct thin darker bands in the outer edges. The crystals are intergrown cubes, the largest reaching 3.3 cm on edge. The crystals have some minor edge wear, but are also naturally 'stepped'. Not only is this a lovely miniature Fluorite specimen, but was also figured in Arvid Pasto's book 'A Collectors Guide to Fluorite'.
