Annabergite
Annabergite - nickel arsenate hydrate - is one of those rare species which never forms large crystals, but can be stunningly beautiful. Widely regarded as the world's best locality for the species, the Km 3 mines at Lavrion Mining District, Greece have not only produced the largest crystals, but also the best colour. This fine miniature specimen from the the superb systematic collection assembled by the brothers Martin and Michael Günther (1951-2007 & 1956-2021) features the finest intense apple-green colour in really sharply defined bladed monoclinic microcrystals. These crystals reach 1 to 1.5 mm in length and are stunningly beautiful under magnification.
