Big and dramatic, this stunning old-time Adamite, from the all-time classic locality - Ojuela mine, Mapimí, Durango, Mexico - is a real treat to behold. Large cabinet in size, and with a classic Goethite gossan matrix, it features a display surface liberally covered in extremely large fan-like sprays of pale lime green to yellow-green Adamite crystals with a sumptuous 'wet' resinous lustre. These display a lovely subtle zonation in colour. The outer surface of these 'fans' feature well-defined wedge-shaped crystal terminations in a 'stepped' formation. The individual Adamite crystals reach over 1 cm in length, producing aggregates over 2 cm in diameter. It is exceptionally rare to find Ojuela mine Adamite specimens of this size and dramatic form. With this scale, it means that it displays visually extremely well. A few of the crystals have rough, inclusion-rich surfaces, but overall this is an exceptional Adamite.
