This lovely, large miniature hemisphere of drusy sparkling Quartz from the Tenke-Fungurume area in the Kolwezi mining district, DR Congo is coloured green by underlying Malachite. The domed hemisphere is 3.7 cm in diameter, with other surrounding areas of Quartz coloured purple-brown by underlying brown-coloured ironstone matrix with flashes of pale green from possible Chrysocolla. The display surface is very fine, the Quartz covering the entirety in a fairly uniform 3 to 5 mm thick layer of small 'spiky' pyramidal crystals. Distinctive material.
