NATIVE Copper ps. after Aragonite$500.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
Corocoro is a small town in Pacajes Province, Bolivia and is the centre of one of the copper mining districts. However, it is less the copper mines, and rather one of the mineral forms found there, that has made this town famous. Discovered some 30 or 40 years ago, perfect Native Copper replacements, or pseudomorphs, after hexagonal Aragonite crystals are simply the world's best example of this extremely unusual replacement form. Many specimens were available back in the late 1990s, but most were vaguely hexagonal in shape, or had rounded crystal edges. This stunning thumbnail specimen is a wonder to behold, with such amazing sharpness in form, and with another tiny, but well-formed hexagonal crystal attached on one side. Ex David Hardman collection.
