A sharp, huge spinel twinned gold crystal showing robust form, elegant display, and a perfection all around on both sides. Simply an outstanding example of crystallized gold in large crystals. We seldom see this quality of development from any location. This is from an unidentified mine in the Mother Lode District of California, out of an old collection via the Kosnar family collection. While smaller examples of gold in fine twins are abundant as thumbnail specimens, miniature sized examples like this, with such definition to the twin and freestanding form, are and always will be exceedingly rare.
